Si has pasado algún tiempo en Internet, y dado que estás leyendo esto es muy probable que así sea, es casi seguro que te hayas topado con el meme Doge.

Se trata de una foto de un perro en la que el animal aparece con cara de bobo en el momento, pero se ha convertido en mucho más que eso porque Internet lo ha tomado y lo ha convertido en un meme increíblemente popular.

Básicamente es la imagen de Kabosu rodeada de trozos de texto gramaticalmente abominable como "muchos amigos, tan feliz, wow", ya te haces una idea.

Doge se hizo tan popular que se convirtió en el 'top meme' de Know Your Meme de 2013, y más tarde pasó a ser la base de una criptomoneda, mientras que un NFT del meme original se vendió por 4 millones de dólares.

Lamentablemente, el Doge original se encuentra en muy mal estado, ya que el Shiba Inu está gravemente enfermo.

El perro, propiedad de la profesora japonesa Atsuko Sato, tiene ahora 17 años y, por desgracia, padece leucemia linfática crónica y colangiohepatitis aguda, una forma de enfermedad hepática.

Sato ha compartido la noticia en Instagram, donde ya ha mostrado otras imágenes de Kabosu y ha comentado que su perro es uno de los memes más populares del mundo.

Para poner al día a la gente sobre la salud del perro, escribió que el Shiba Inu había "dejado de comer y beber voluntariamente" en Nochebuena, y aunque el apetito del pobre perro había vuelto un poco desde entonces, la condición era muy grave.

En sus publicaciones en la web compartió un video de ella dándole de beber al perro, y dijo que el animal estaba tomando antibióticos.

Sato declaró que su querido perro se encontraba "en un estado muy peligroso", pero agradeció a todo el mundo el envío de mensajes de apoyo.

Muchas personas acudieron a las redes sociales para desearle lo mejor a Kabosu en medio de esta grave enfermedad, y uno de los mensajes procedía de otro perro meme, Balltze, en el que se leía: "Te envío amor y energía, mis mejores deseos para ti".

Muchos otros también se unieron para decir "Doge mejórate pronto", y dijeron que "rezarían para que Doge se recupere".

Parece que la gente no está preparada para decir adiós al perro que se convirtió en fuente de tantos memes, como dijo otra persona: "el día que Doge fallezca será el día que lo pierda".

Esperemos que Kabosu pueda recuperarse de estas graves enfermedades, ya que no parece que el mundo esté preparado para perder a Doge.
